Personal desktop application
A working companion
for one Gmail inbox.
Caroline Gmail Desktop connects a personal writing and research workspace to its owner's dedicated Gmail mailbox. It helps the owner find messages, organise the inbox and collect subscription reading.
What Caroline can do
- Search messages and read selected message text in a conversation.
- Create and apply labels, mark mail read or unread, star messages and archive them. Recorded label changes can be restored.
- Collect newsletter candidates into a local reading store, normally every 30 minutes while Caroline is open and the Mac is awake.
The installed Gmail tool does not send mail, create drafts, move messages to Trash, permanently delete messages or download attachments. The collector does not change mail or automatically publish it.
Why it asks for Gmail access
Caroline uses Google's gmail.modify permission to read and organise the authorised mailbox. Google's permission covers more actions than this tool exposes; Caroline limits its available actions to those described above. It verifies the configured account before Gmail operations.
When Gmail material is used in an authorised AI conversation, relevant text can be sent to the configured AI service. Automatic newsletter collection itself runs locally without an AI call. The privacy policy explains both paths.
For the owner's use
This is a privately maintained personal application, not a public email service. There is no public registration or download on this website. The website describes the application; it cannot connect to or read a mailbox.
Gmail is a Google service. Caroline is independently maintained and is not a Google product or a claim of Google verification.
